Tongariro U6 Pango vs Taupo¯ United Devils

Thank you again to our nannies, koros, parents and siblings for bringing your tamariki out in the wet. We were fortunate to take a one-try win. We want to congratulate the following award recipients for leading the way: our ‘Playing Awesome’ awards went to Te Autahi Staples-Fletcher and Raymond Collier for their dedication and determination. Ripper of the day went to Elle-Jaye FletcherColes, while player of the match went to Kauri Cockburn, who scored tries and ripped tags.

U6 Sharks

The Sharks would like to thank their coach Boycie for taking the field and Uncle Te Wa for reffing the first half. Thank you to our parents, grandparents and wha¯nau who brought our tamariki to Taupo¯ and supported from the side line. We went down to Sports Panthers, who are a very well drilled team. Our player of the day was Tama Owens, who displayed great body movement and angles to prevent his tags from being ripped. Ripper of the day went to Rebecca Morunga.

U7 Stallions vs Waitahanui

The Stallions took on Waitahanui, by far the most challenging team they have faced and what a good game

it was! Stallions came out on top, 12-8. Player of the day went to Leah Uerata for her outstanding running that saw her score three tries. Ripper of the day went to Wiremu Ellis, with his consistent tag ripping.

Waitahanui ki Tongariro U7s

A huge thank you to our babies and their parents/wha¯nau for still coming, despite the weather. Even though it was not the greatest, you still came to tautoko and participate, so nga¯ mihi nui! We had a good game against the Tongariro Stallions. Thank you to Marina Marshall, our player of the day sponsor. Player of the day award went to Jax Tauroa Wall. Fair play went to Manaia Vietheer. Well done our babies!

U9 Sikas

The Sikas went down to Sports Chiefs, but all our tamariki played their little hearts out in that awful weather. A huge mihi to

Rauaiterangi Harris and Sophie Lyons for sharing a half each and playing with the Chiefs! Player of the day went to Jayden Lyons who made some big stops and ran everywhere to back up his team mates. He also got injured and got back on the field and continued to give 100 percent. Sikas have a lot to work on still but we can see their improvements every week. A big mihi to our wha¯ nau for their ongoing support.

Under 9 Reds

The Reds went down over the weekend against Sports Chiefs. It took our kids a while to warm up in the freezing cold wet weather, but come the second half they were ready and gave it their all. Thank you to all the mamas, papas, nannies and koros for braving the weather and coming to support our kids. Our player of the days went to Ava Hargreaves and Caitlyn Kiel. Along with the rest of the team, these two girls were trying hard to score tries and doing some good tackles.

U11 Colts vs Taupo¯ Sports Mana

Our kids took a while to warm up in the terrible weather but finished strong in the second half with a 50-15 win. Players of they day went to Shaunee Reweti and Cullen Millar. U13s had a bye last week and play at home on Saturday at Tu¯rangitukua Park.
