SUNCOURT PLAZA PROUDLY HOSTED THE JULY BA5

-

It was a fantastic turnout to BA5 in Suncourt Plaza, graciously hosted by Suncourt Indian, Pop Up Produce and The Cozy Corner. Rahul and his chefs took us on a journey of Indian street food that most of us had never experienced before. Serving up a number of unique, fun-filled, tasty dishes, the Suncourt Indian team delighted attendees.

Pop Up Produce proved that they truly are the home of fresh produce. The team kept the shop open late for attendees to meander through, who were most impressed with the quality, size and freshness of the fruit, veggies and beautiful lilies. Tasty, local honey is also sold in store.

The Cozy Corner team deserve loads of credit for organising the evening. Not only did they include their neighbours, provide heaters and serve drinks, they shared trays of their signature, delectable desserts. The Cozy Corner take pride in their ability to serve food with heart and cater for every dietary requirement, featuring unique, homemade ingredients.

A common theme we heard from all three hosts was the wonderful support they have from their teams. Sticking together over many difficult months, while staying true to their values and goals as a business, has been the winning recipe for survival.

Guest speaker Senior Sergeant Fane Troy gave us an update on Taupō Police operations, including challenges their own teams have recently faced. With Covid and flu affecting the Police, just as they are every other business, teams have had to work extra hard to help keep our community safe.

There were two great takeaways from Sergeant Troy’s presentation. First, if it’s happening now and you need help from Police, dial 111. If it’s already happened, dial 105. Second, the best deterrent to tagging is to take pride in your building and paint out tagging immediately after it happens. If your wall is regularly being tagged, consider taking part in Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival and have a mural painted on your wall. Those who tag usually respect the artworks created during the festival.

A massive thank you from Towncentre Taupō to our hosts and guest speaker for creating an outstanding BA5!
