TOI OHOMAI PROUDLY HOSTED AUGUST BA5

-

Taupō businesses gained an insight into the future of vocational education at the latest Business After Five networking event, hosted by Toi Ohomai at the Hilton Hotel. Toi Ohomai faculty deans Brian Dillon and Bart Vosse spoke about the organisation’s transition into Te Pūkenga and what it means for the Taupō community.

Te Pūkenga is bringing together on-thejob, on campus, and online vocational education and training through a unified, sustainable network. This means greater access and opportunities for students and an organisation that responds to industry needs.

Brian and Bart spoke about how the institute was working closely with industry to provide training and courses which meet the needs of local communities.

They confirmed that Toi Ohomai will continue to have a presence in Taupō and in response to need, new courses in construction and apiculture had been added to the list of current delivery programmes, which also includes automotive, agriculture, forestry, te reo, and beauty therapy.

Toi Ohomai remains committed to the Taupō community and businesses will still work with the same great people, and our learners and communities will still receive the same great education and support, but the opportunities for ākonga and employers will be much greater.
