Women’s Veteran Golf

With an altered programme, the Taupō players found themselves not only teeing off earlier but on Centennial course and with the pleasure of some of our nine-hole counterparts.

In cool but sunny conditions and only playing nine holes, players felt as though it only was morning tea time when they completed their stableford competition. Steady play by resulted in the following; Jane Lewis 19, Sam Haycock 18, Helen from Fairlie 18, Wynne Murdock 17, Lynne Bowden and Gail Searle 16. These were followed by Fran Fuller, Carol Taylor and Anna Brabyn, each with 15 and Mary Watts 14.

Closest to the pins was Lynne Bowden, both on the 12th and 16th while Jane Lewis won the Tremains Real Estate red towel for the longest putt on hole 18.

One of the nine-hole visitors, Peggy Durno, won the mystery card and the Liquorland bubbles. Wynne Murdock was the happy recipient of the dawn card raffle.

Next week’s competition is a Blended Tees competition.
