THUMBS UP & DOWN

Thumbs up

■ Massive thumbs up and thankyou to the conservation teams who put on a whanau nature day in the Tū rangi town centre. Awesome to have something for everyone happen at the southern end of the lake.

■ Thumbs up to Greenstone entertainment for sponsoring prizes for the St Patrick's School Creative Catwalk and to the amazing judges who gave up their time to judge the hats and costumes.

■ Thumbs up to Jason and staff at Resene Paints. Thank you for matching up my colour for my doors as you could not read the label on the empty tin I bought in - my fault as it was covered in paint. Jason and the staff must have spent a fair bit of time trying to match it up. A big thank you from a very happy customer, you guys certainly went the extra mile, much appreceiated.

Thumbs down

■ Thumbs down to the candidates who are unvaccinated and/or who have not been upfront about their association with the Voices for Freedom movement.

■ We are wondering if TDC will complete the blackberry removal and planting in the Titoki Gully or will they let it return to another weedy drainage gully?

■ Thumbs down to all the bad drivers that think Wharewaka Road is a race course. The speed monitor is supposed to slow you down. It is not there to see how fast you can drive. There is a retirement village and young school children that catch the school bus down that road. Please show some consideration. It is such a pity a speed camera hadn't been installed at the same time as the monitor was erected.
