TOWNCENTRE TAUPŌ UPDATE

Towncentre Taupo is rolling out the 12th year of Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival. The first of its kind in New Zealand, the festival sees Taupō town centre walls transformed into incredible works of art over Labour Weekend (22 to 24 October). Over 85 murals have been painted by some of the best local, national, and international street artists.

In 2020, kiwi street artist DSide transformed a helicopter as part of the Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival. This year, he’s re-imagining a yacht! Taupō Sailing Adventures have offered their yacht, Fearless, as a canvas for one of the artworks. Renowned artist DSide is set to transform the vessel which pre-Covid was used for scenic sailing trips on Lake Taupō to the Ngātoroirangi Māori Rock Carvings.
