THUMBS UP & DOWN

-

Thumbs up

■ Thumbs up to Empire Glass for first glass service and products solving our glazing problems here in Kinloch. Sam and his team were excellent to deal with.

■ Thumbs up to the article from police — Taupō & Tūrangi Herald p6, last week — about ‘That Guy’. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they could make this article into a TV ad.

■ I would like to say thumbs up to Taupō VTNZ for going above and beyond to assist me with the re-check on my car. I was able to get this done in less than 10 minutes after explaining that my car had been repaired at a mechanics shop and that I was in urgent need of getting to work on time, ie before 8.30am. They were able to check the changes and put a new sticker in the car and I was at work only a few minutes after the bell.

■ Thumbs up to the dedicated volunteers who each week, no matter the weather, work to maintain the wonderful Waipahihi Botanical Reserve.

■ Thumbs up to Manz at Taupō Tyre Solutions for checking my tyre pressure and adjusting it, and turning down an offer of payment.

Thumbs down

■ Thumbs down to the despicable low life who steals plants from the Waipahihi Botanical Gardens. This fortnight, three beautiful hybrid azalea plants were taken thus depriving others of the pleasure of enjoying them. Shame on you!

■ Thumbs down to the man heard yelling and swearing at cafe staff because his coffee wasn’t being made quick enough. Not cool.
