THUMBS UP & DOWN
THUMBS UP
■ Thumbs up to the very generous gentleman that paid for my 96-year-old dad’s groceries last Friday at Pak’nSave. There are some really generous people out there.
■ Thumbs up to Taupō District Council road safety division and the team at Pack & Pedal for the most informative bike maintenance course. Very professional and helpful, and with the hands-on experience all benefited greatly. Well worth the effort to attend for any cyclist.
■ Thumbs up to Gull Atiamuri. Diesel in Taupō ranged from $2.47.9-$2.77.9 per litre. Gull Atiamuri, it cost $2.30.7 — a saving between 17 cents to 47 cents per litre or, for a 60-litre tank, a saving between $10.20-$28 on Taupo prices.
■ Thumbs up to the Turangi Squash Club for the wonderful tournament in memory of Jennifer Mckenzie. It was lovely to see it busy and a big thank you to the organisers and everyone who helped out in every way. The club is looking great after a makeover so well done.
■ Thumbs up and many thanks, to the “Woofers” who found my phone at Acacia Bay recently, and kept it safe until I came back looking for it. Such a relief! All the best for your travels.
■ A big, huge thumbs up to Family & Financial Solutions Trust Taupō in Waiora Hous, Ruapehu wing for outstanding support and advice, guidance for budgeting and conversation.
THUMBS DOWN
■ Thumbs down to Waka Kotahi for not diverting state highway between Taupō and Tū rangi to a safer route away from the lake.
