TIME TO DO YOUR PART: HELP SAVE WATER THIS SUMMER

-

SUMMER IS JUST around the corner and as the number of people in the Taupō District ramps up, so does the pressure on our water supply system.

As the Taupō District begins to swell with holiday visitors and temperatures rise, demand for water always increases hugely.

While we are lucky that there is no shortage of water in Lake Taupō, the increase in demand over summer puts enormous pressure on our water treatment plants which can only treat a certain amount of water each day.

All of the water used in our homes and

gardens must be treated at the water treatment plants. Reducing the amount of water used in your home can reduce the cost of water treatment and put less strain on our resources.

There are no water restrictions in place at present, but they may be used to help ease the pressure on the system. Taupō District Council encourages everyone in the district this summer to do their part to conserve and use water responsibly.
