Tū rangi Sports Challenge

-

The inaugural Tū rangi Sports Challenge, organised by the

Tū rangi Tongariro Sports Foundation, proved an inspiration and popular choice of sporting entertainment for the five teams that participated.

With five weeks and five different sports, a mixed bag of skill, speed, accuracy and climbing to new heights was needed. The sports had everyone at some stage outside their comfort zone, but showing their tenacity and competitiveness in not giving up.

By the final week’s touch game, there was only a matter of a couple of points in it, and all teams were still in with a chance. Week five was to be the final decider! Feedback from the Challenge has been very positive, and talk for 2023 has been about what else to try.

Prizegiving followed the last game, along with a sausage sizzle thanks to New World Tū rangi. Congratulations and a big thankyou to everyone involved. Week 1: Climbing Wall — 1st place NZ Forest Managers, 2nd place

Tū rangi Squash Club
