TURANGI BA5 UPDATE

-

Tūrangi BA5 – 28 November 2022.

The final Tūrangi BA5 for 2022 was hosted by Tūwharetoa FM in their purpose built premises in the Tūrangi Town Centre. They say, you save the best to last and our hosts did not disappoint. The evening started with a Karakia from Aaron Moeke, Production Director at Tūwharetoa FM, followed by a beautiful Waiata, performed by the Tūwharetoa FM team.

Aaron spoke of the growth of Tūwharetoa FM into a multimedia company, and the offering available to businesses and the community. He then introduced the team via an inhouse produced video presentation. It was great to see the Rangatahi commenting on how they had grown in themselves, through the support of Tūwharetoa FM.

The second presentation was from Doug Wilcox, Operations Manager at Lake Rotoaira Forest Trust (LRFT). Doug spoke of the LRFT desire to develop a tourism strategy for the Trust beneficiaries, based on environment, whanau, visitors, in that order. Doug mentioned recent tourism acquisitions, the development of the Tongariro Tourism Hub based at Ketetahi, and the soon to be launched Kaimanawa Alpine Adventures JV.

The 60+ attendees were well entertained by our hosts. It was also great to see a number of new business owners attending. A great night and many thanks to the team at Tūwharetoa FM.
