Women Vets’ Golf

-

What a change in temperature! Thirty-two vet women golfers enjoyed a very warm, more like summer day, for their latest round of golf.

We were joined by a group of women from Kinloch Golf Club and the competition was Stableford played off the terracotta tees on Centennial, which is a shortened course meaning longer walks from green to tee.

The course is in superb condition and we are appreciating the extended shorter rough than what we have experienced in past years.

We are lucky to have such wonderful green keepers who also have the use of newer, better equipment to keep the courses in top condition.

The winner on the day was one of our younger players, Andrea Deadman with 39 points, followed in second place with 37 points by one of our longer-playing members, Colleen Wade, who we admire for her consistent scoring. The next three players all had 36 points and in order, decided by countback, were Lyn Edwards, Tracy Hansard and Yvonne Raureti-Carson.

Jenny Cory took out 6th place on countback from Elaine Johnston with 35 points and one of our newest members, Fran Robertson, took the final prize position with 34 points.

All these players had money credited to their loyalty accounts. The Tremains’ Real Estate red towel longest putt winner was Elaine Johnston for her putt on the 9th hole.

The Starlight Cinema nearest the pin winner on the 6th hole was Andrea Deadman and Fran Svenson was awarded a voucher from Lakeside Meats for her shot onto the 3rd hole.

Adele Keene won the wine and chocolate raffle.
