Murtagh wins TA scram­ble

Barry Murtagh was back in the win­ner’s cir­cle with a 66 nett in Sun­day’s scram­ble at Te Awa­mutu Golf Club.

The 26 hand­i­cap­per was solid through­out his round, tour­ing the course in 92 shots, go­ing out in 46 and home in 46.

Greg Ward took out the gross with a round of 83.

The stable­ford win­ner was Roy Green­halgh with 40 points, from Howard Wyn­yard 37.

Twos were scored by Howard Wyn­yard and Toni Cole­man.

Open mid­week tour­na­ment win­ners were Ray Davies with an 83 gross, John Sta­ples 43 stable­ford, Bill Hawira 40, Les Com­mon 38, Ross Sig­nal, Roy Green­halgh, Percy Kapa, John Hill 37.

Sta­ples scored the soli­tary two. Best of the Thurs­day vet­er­ans were Roy Green­halgh and Sid Lim each with 39 stable­ford and Robin McGhie 38. Satur­day’s all-day open scram­ble win­ners were Dean Tan­giora with 75 gross, Stu­art Tow­ers 40 stable­ford, Sam Tow­ers 39, Tim Crotty, Clin­ton Rowe, Brett Te Whare 36.
