Visitors take the honours

Despite the numerical advantage, the hosts were no match for the visitors in the two bowls triples tournament at Kihikihi Bowling Club.

Frankton Railway’s team of Dennis Meinung, Mark Pene and Eddie Know took the honours outright as the only fourgame winners of the Highfield Estate sponsored event.

Mark Wernham’s Beerescourt team, with three wins and a draw, were runnersup.

Te Awamutu’s team skipped by Sheryl Payne took out third prize.

Teams from Te Awamutu (3), Frankton Railway, Beerescourt and Hinuera joined the six local teams in competition.
