Te Awamutu Courier

Excellence

- (Hamilton). Anna D’Souza

This year the Modern/Jazz section was full within 24 hours of opening and the Ballet section was full within one week.

Lisa says this has become the norm throughout the country, but was a first for Te Awamutu. She says the popularity of Groups/Troupes entertainment session held on Sunday night, September 29, caught her off guard, with standing room only.

“The atmosphere was so supportive towards the eight local groups entered by Te Awamutu’s Imperious Dance company, who once again took first place in both the Junior and Senior Group sections,” says Lisa.

“We are so lucky to have two fantastic dance schools in Te Awamutu and the talent coming through from these schools into the competitions is really very impressive.

“The number of local dancers competing throughout the three sections has continued to increase over the years. This year we had 21 local dancers from Cambridge and Te Awamutu, many achieving grate success,” says Lisa.
