Top performances at competitions

- Angus Guitars Trophy: Sean Lurman (Te Awamutu).

Te Awamutu Performing Arts Festival Acoustic Instrument Section convenor Gill Earwaker reports a successful festival, with a wide variety of performances in her section.

She says there are four sections for woodwind, brass, strings and percussion, which provided great entertainment for the audience and platform for the young students who participated.

Gill thanked all the teachers who prepared these students to such a high standard, as well as sponsors, volunteers and accompanists who supported this year’s festival.

“It is because of this support and community spirit we are able to provide a performance opportunity for students of all ages, at different levels of learning, and encourage them in their musical journey,” says Gill.
