Hunters lead darts league

WWMC Hunters continue to hold on to their slight lead over O¯ haupo¯ after dispatchin­g Warriors 16-7 in the darts league.

Damon Warbrick and Gene Gratwick both contribute­d to this win with 180s.

O¯ haupo¯ beat cellar dwellers Dragons 17-6, with Tama Rueben and David Bowers scoring their inevitable 180s and David Bowers also winning all his matches.

Dragons took some pride in winning six games against this talented side.

The next match between Hunters and Ohaupo¯ ¯ promises to be a thriller and a must win for O¯ haupo¯.

Rockets easily put Tungstens away with a 18-5 scoreline.

Rob Day of Tungstens scored the only 180 of the night.

For Rockets, Greg Chard, David Scott and Jamie TeNana won all their games demonstrat­ing their consistent­ly good form.

In the 2nd Division Rosetown Thorns trounced WWMC Raiders 12-3, with Darran Adam, Risk Moana and Patrick Hope being the main contributo­rs to this victory after winning all their matches. Tigers narrowly pipped Rebels 8-7 with the result only known after the last match.

Steve Wilkinson’s 120 start and a 140 coupled with Marty Pearces 180 for Rebels was not enough to alter the result.

Tigers win came after Gerry Helsloots won all his games and Mike Melger’s 140.

This division is shaping up for an exciting conclusion with three teams vying for top honours.
