Shota’s teachers comment on his great manners and his friendly nature. He has actively participat­ed in his classes and always brings a positive attitude.

Shota joined Te Awamutu College Senior Boys Basketball Team and was a committed and focussed member of the team. He also showed good house spirit and talent when playing for Selwyn in Inter House basketball. Manaia Cup for Academic Excellence, Top Ma¯ ori student Year 11: Atareipoun­amu Crown; Bouma Trophy for Academic Excellence, Top Year 11 student: Matthew Yarndley; Kia Kaha Trophy for Academic Excellence, Top Ma¯ ori student Year 12:Bree Walker; The Poot Cup for Academic Excellence, Top Year 12 student: Oksana Voznyuk; Nga Kete o Te Wa¯nanga Trophy for Academic Excellence, Top Academic Ma¯ ori student Year 13: Jacinda BakerSingh.

General Excellence Cup Year 12, Trebilco Cup: Oksana Voznyuk. Oksana has topped Level 2 Drama, English and Visual Art and at present all her 79 Level 2 and 3 credits have been attained at Excellence Level.

Oksana has been a member of the Senior Band for the last four years and has participat­ed in National Chamber Music Competitio­ns for the last three years.

She is an ardent supporter of her House and has been been involved in school committees ever since Year 9. She has also devoted time and effort to being a Keep Cool Mentor in 2019 and a pivotal member of the Diversity Group since its inception in 2015. Te Awamutu Business and Profession­al Women Trophy for Initiative and Enterprise: Emily Shaw.

Emily proved to be a reliable and capable chairperso­n of the 2019 Ball Committee and an excellent Keep Cool Mentor for the last two years.She also found the energy to be part of the Culture, Environmen­t, Health, SADD and Service Committees this year, as well as playing for our Girls Football First XI. Te Awamutu Masonic Lodge’s Trophy for Excellent Contributi­on to the School: Amber Fitzpatric­k.

Amber has been extensivel­y involved in College life since Year 9, serving on Social, Service, Health, Culture, Ball and SADD committees.

This year Amber was chairperso­n of the SADD committee.

On the cultural front, Amber has been part of Support Act, Stage Challenge, Production and Senior Band and her sporting life includes being part of the College Cheerleadi­ng team when it was active in her Years 9 and 10 and playing Premier Girls Basketball last year, as well as Lacrosse for five years, the last three for Premier Girls. Rotary Shield for Service to the School — Girls’ Shield and Waipa¯ District Council Service to the Community Award: Paige Ellis.

Paige has been heavily involved in College life since Year 9, five years in Support Act and Senior Band, Stage Challenge/Show Quest, part of 2016 and 2018 production­s and in the Sheilah Winn Shakespear­e Festival for the last three years.

She has played Lacrosse for five years, the last two for Premier Girls. Paige has served on Service, Culture, Ball, Sport and SADD committees, this year chairing the Service Committee. She was also Deputy House Leader of Selwyn and wrote the winning 2019 Selwyn House song. Rotary Shield for Service to the School — Boys’ Shield: Jack Gibson.

From Year 9 Jack has been involved in an array of extra curricular activities, including; rugby, zone swimming, Support Act, Junior Jazz, volleyball junior boys, skiing, rowing, cricket and clay target shooting.

Jack was a Head Student this year and he has a pleasant and positive manner. Jack has been a great role model for other students through getting involved; showing commitment, setting goals and demonstrat­ing fair play and a fine ambassador for the school. There are over a page of entries in Katrina’s College record of participat­ion and involvemen­t in extra-curricular activities, right from when she started College, from athletics, volleyball player and referee, basketball and netball and as a member of the Culture, Health and Service committees. She has also been a Kia Tu Senior leader — mentoring and inspiring younger Ma¯ ori and Pasifika students.

This year she was a Head Student, possessing a quiet dignity and mana. Katrina has been a great role model to other students and a fine ambassador for the school. RSA Peace Scholarshi­p — Boys’: Te Kapamanawa­kii Crown.

Te Kapamanawa­kii has been an outstandin­g Head Student in 2019 and shown his mana and dignity.

He has a pleasant and positive manner and sets himself goals, but is also supportive of others. He is always immaculate in his appearance.

Te Kapamanawa­kii has been involved extensivel­y in sporting endeavours right from Year 9: athletics, cross country, swimming and five years of rugby, including the last three in the First XV — two as captain/co-captain.

He took the lead in the school production Rock of Ages. Te Kapamanawa­kii has been a fine role model to other students and great ambassador for Te Awamutu College. General Excellence Cup Year 13: Tegan Walmsley.

Tegan is on track to attain Level 3 Endorsed with Excellence. She was part of the 2016 school production Grease and a member of the Social Committee in Years 10 and 11.

She has been actively involved in a host of school committees: Service, SADD, Health, Ball, Environmen­t and Culture and was a dedicated and compassion­ate Keep Cool mentor last year. Tegan’s sporting participat­ion and leadership have been extensive in her time at the College: ski team, mountain biking, equestrian, swimming, cross country and is a top representa­tive Lacrosse player.

As a Head Student she is able to both lead and be a supportive team member and has been a fine ambassador for the school. Mexted Cup for Proxime Accessit, $1500 sponsored by Vetora: Nirav Patel. AG Freeman Medal for Dux Litterarum, $3000 sponsored by Canon: Bert Downs.
