Hunters win over Dragons
The runaway winners of Division 1 in this year’s Te Awamutu Darts Association championship, Waipa¯ Workingmen’s Club Hunters, finished their year by bullying their clubmates Dragons 20-3.
Marc Webb with a 160 start for Dragons provided the only scoring highlight.
While it has been recognised that the quality of darts thrown by Dragon players has improved by playing in Division 1, it is also true that they need to improve even more to become competitive.
Tungstens enjoyed their win over Warriors 14-9.
Ben Rapson with a 180 and a 160 start, alongside teammate Paul Bell’s 171 contributed to their victory.
Shug Hemare scored her third 180 of the year for Warriors.
Rosetown Rockets’ win over Ohaupo¯, ¯ while in itself is not remarkable, the score line of 18-5 was. This has allowed Rockets to share second-place honours with O¯ haupo¯ .
David Wotherspoon and David Scott won all all their matches for Rockets while David Bowers scored¯ his 15th 180 for the season for Ohaupo¯ .
In Division 2 Rebels easily bested Raiders 12-3, with Shane Foster hitting his second 180 for the year. He also won all his games with teammate Steve Wilkinson. Rebels have now cemented their first place alone in this division.
Tigers beat Allsorts with a 12-3 result to take second place. Raymond Hunwick, Mike Melgers and Gerry Heelsloot won all their matches for Tigers.
