Car parking struggle

-

Has anyone found themselves struggling to find a car park in town?

The situation is only going to get worse as the council focuses on growth of the district rather than making sure paying ratepayers get maintained and servable infrastructure that includes the ability to shop locally.

Whilst the council proposes increased rates, I am confident this by no means will go towards improving the ability to park in town.

During the day it is tantamount impossible to find a park and it’s no wonder when you consider one of the largest employees in town, that is the council, has its staff fill most of the spaces.

Funny, I thought e-bikes were the solution for council staff. What a joke.

Instead, the council’s go to solution is to infringe drivers rather than deal with the bigger picture. Or is the bigger picture just too difficult for council to deal with, do you need another consultant to help you with this one?

I have no problem with issuing infringement notices if drivers are breaking the law, assuming that the law is uniformly applied to all drivers.

Ask yourself, why has this happened; quite simply because in my opinion the council has pushed growth and neglected to take into account improving infrastructure to account for that said growth.

Here is some free consultation for your consideration to improve the situation; carpool; work remotely from home every odd day (will reduce overheads too); stop forcing growth on the district; provide a collector bus service; extend the car park to the rear of the Events Centre.
