Golfers come away with half

The Pirongia/Nga¯hinapo¯uri pennants golf team got off to a tough start as the morning round saw them take on home team Puta¯ruru.

The team went down 4-2 with wins scored by Matt Carson and Scott Law.

The afternoon round against Waihi was a close affair. Law and Lance Dean were able to put up two wins before Carson and Thor Hugo (Nga¯hinapo¯uri) each halved their matches.

Malcolm Verner went down early in his match and was not able to recover.

Ben Jefferies worked hard but also went down. Final result was a halved match.

For the next round, the teams head to Pirongia.

Pirongia/Nga¯hinapo¯uri will be playing against Waitomo in the morning and Riverside 2 in the afternoon.
