A life not bad

- Rusty Nail

March is here once more Autumn’s in the air. The cycle of the seasons Happens everywhere.

There’s so much talk of freedom That’s often being spoke Affecting many lives

Of ordinary folk.

Ukrainian freedoms lost The Citizens all fleeing.

No crimes committed here, By ordinary human beings.

Floods in OZ are rampant Water surging forth Engulfing towns and houses With all its might and force.

No choice for people there Or freedom to remain They need to flee their homes As it continuously rains.

And back here close to home As omicron spreads round It’s effecting many citizens In almost every town.

People losing freedom Mandates restrict the flow Of where unvaccinated folk Are now allowed to go.

Yes all around the world Are struggles running rife

Affecting all in many ways In daily walks of life.

In my mind at least,

The freedoms that we’ve lost Are pale in comparison To other peoples cost.

Reflecting how we live

I still am very glad

That life here in New Zealand Is still just not too bad.
