TA Sports ready to hit the ground running on April 23

-

The Te Awamutu Sports Premier side travelled to Owen Delany Park in Taupo¯ to take on Ma¯ ori Agricultural College (M.A.C) from Hawke’s Bay in their final pre-season rugby match for 2022.

M.A.C, coached by ex-All Black captain Taine Randell brought down a massive side who play with physicality.

“Our young group was led by cocaptains Taha Kemara and Tony Bennett,” says Te Awamutu Sports head coach Travis Church.

“We took a trimmed down squad to Taupo¯. It was ideal to get big minutes into our young group. As a coaching team, we were pleased with the efforts across the whole squad.”

Te Awamutu Sports won the match, 52-7.

Te Awamutu Sports look forward to preparing for their first competition game, against a strong United Matamata Sports side on April 23.
