Logjam for runner-up spot forces complex calculations
At Bowls Te Awamutu’s Open Optional Triples tournament played on April 6, the unusual situation arose where, although there was one clear winning team, nine teams came in second, with the same number of wins and losses for the four-game day.
The controller for the day then had to work back through ends won and points differentials.
The tournament, which was sponsored by Pizza Hut and drew a field of 15 teams, was won by the team of Doug Conway (skip),
Nevenka Drnasin and Christine Ball.
