Darroch/Cowan Duo play for Music Federation
Te Awamutu Music Federation is thrilled to be able to offer their first concert in many months. As part of a Chamber Music New Zealand tour, we are able to present a ‘Musical Journey through the Americas' by the Darroch/ Cowan Duo featuring a riveting combination of flute and guitar.
Hannah Darroch is principal flute of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, she has performed at many venues overseas and is in great demand as a teacher.
Steve Cowan has performed as a soloist throughout Canada, USA and Europe. He is recognised as one of Canada's top contemporary classical guitarists. In 2021, he was a EuroStrings touring artist.
It is a fascinating and very varied concert. The Audience will hear A Fish Tale, Music for a Summer Wedding, Canyon Echoes, Tango tunes, Snow Dreams and Mountain Songs.
In line with the recommendations of the venue, audience members are asked to wear a mask if possible and sit physically distanced.
Monday, May 9, 7.30pm, Methodist Church. $20, door sales, cash please. School students free.
