Country music artists come To Te Awamutu
Headline act at Bible Chapel concert is country music star from Ireland
The Te Awamutu Country Variety Club proudly presents a country music concert at the Bible Chapel on Saturday, May 28 at 7pm, featuring a line-up of top talent.
Headline star is special guest, from Ireland, John deBurg.
John’s country music roots come from his family’s interest and following of country music. Some of his earliest memories are of the music played by his family and his mum going to concerts by Buck Owens, or his Uncle Jackie who played and sang in a popular country group in Ireland.
Joe Martin is an international steel guitar player who is in demand. He backed many top New Zealand country music performers on recordings, and live performances.
The Kahu Sisters are three lovely ladies that performed for us previously and have just appeared at the Taranaki Festival and were an instant hit.
Multi-award winner Merv McEnteer will be performing a traditional style of country music with a leaning toward the Merle Haggard style.
Rae Carton, another multiaward winner, just loves performing and seeing the joy on the faces of the audience. She is another that will have you clapping and stomping your feet.
Robbin Durbin hasn’t been to the Bible Chapel for a while but jumped at the chance to come aboard. He performs at many country music festivals around New Zealand.
Lynda Innes has also not been to Te Awamutu area for quite a while but will thrill you with her
