MARCUS GOWER

for a councillor position in the Te AwamutuKihikihi Ward

-

Marcus Gower works, lives and plays in Te Awamutu. His family is from here and are active in the community.

“I run my own IT business looking after computer networks for local business,” says Marcus.

He loves being involved with Council and helping make our district a great place now and for the future, making this “a place our kids will want to come back to for work, grow families. Being able to have positive input into projects like the cycleways, skate parks, insuring our infrastructure is sound and ready for future growth really excites me and creates an environment that people will enjoy.”

Marcus supports some aspects of Three Waters, and says “we need to look at it New Zealand wide, our smaller Councils to the south find it difficult to update water infrastructure, we find it hard to hold on to waters staff. Having an entity that can plan waters works, pay staff well will benefit all of us.”

He also believes that “The Housing Intensification bill is something that Central Government has thrust upon us, it’s up to the ratepayers to speak up and tell us what you think, it will change the character and feel of our towns and villages.”
