Couple country club guests

Guest artists for Mt Pirongia Country Music Club this Sunday are Bob and Shirley Cardey.

The couple have been making music together for the last 30 years. For the past 15 years they lived in Tīmaru and were heavily involved in the local music scene.

Bob played lead guitar and Shirley rhythm guitar in bands for four country music clubs, plus they were regulars on the club scene and for private bookings with their own band which played the hits of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Recently the couple returned home to the North Island to be closer to family, settling in Maungatautari.

The Cardeys will perform at the club day at St John’s Anglican Church Hall in George St from 12.30pm this Sunday. Everyone is welcome.
