Waikato female youth sides show off skills
Finale to 15-a-side season includes Kihikihi trio
Last Wednesday saw a match held at FMG Stadium Waikato between the New Zealand Māori Ngā Māreikura Under 18 (Girls) and a Waikato Under 20 Invitational side containing Kihikihi Women’s reps Maria Muraahi, Sarah Payne and Charlize Waters.
Waikato Under 20 Invitational was co-captained by Waikato Farah Palmer Cup reps ViciRose Green and Reese Anderson.
The New Zealand Māori Ngā Māreikura Under 18 took the win 49-10 in a match played in good spirits.
“It was a cool experience to play at FMG Stadium with a bunch of amazing players. It will be something I will always remember,” says Charlize. “Even though we lost, the score did not affect how our team played. It was such an amazing opportunity for us girls to show our skills off. It was a good way to end the 15-a-side rugby season.”
