Come Together for iconic White Album

Kiwi greats join to reproduce stunning double album

-

The Come Together trilogies of shows have become a staple fixture on the New Zealand entertainment calendar, and after the runaway success of David Bowie's The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars and with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Damn The Torpedoes set to follow suit shortly, fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the third offering for 2022.

Third cab off the rank for 2022 is none other than The Beatles' White Album.

In true Kiwi fashion, some of the greatest names in our entertainment industry have gathered together to faithfully reproduce the White Album.

Be prepared for a mammoth night as Jon Toogood, Julia Deans, James Milne, Samuel Flynn Scott, Dianne Swann, Brett Adams, Jol Mulholland (MD), Matthias Jordan, Alistair Deverick, Mike Hall, Finn Scholes and Nick Atkinson combine to deliver this stunning double album.

Released on the fifth anniversary of the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy, The Beatles' White Album saw John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr create a blueprint for the future of rock music as they began to splinter as a group.

With manager Brian Epstein dead, John self-medicating with LSD, Yoko Ono's presence a distraction and Ringo temporarily leaving the band, it was an album where The Beatles' washed their dirty laundry in the most public manner possible – and is critically regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time.

Contained in its 30 tracks are such well known numbers as Back In The USSR, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Blackbird, Helter Skelter and Revolution 1 to name but a few.

Add to that the extensive catalogue of songs that the Beatles created and it will indeed be a mystery as to what this talented cast will include in the classic hits and deep cuts segment of the show.

Here are just a few of the ‘Fab Four's greatest hits to jog your memory — Love Me Do, From Me To You, She Loves You, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Can't Buy Me Love, A Hard Day's Night, I Feel Fine, Eight Days A Week, Ticket To Ride, Help!, Yesterday, Day Tripper, We Can Work It Out, Paperback Writer, Yellow Submarine, Eleanor Rigby, Penny Lane, All You Need Is Love, Hello Goodbye, Lady Madonna, Hey Jude, Get Back, The Ballad Of John And Yoko, Something, Let It Be, The Long And Winding Road. Wow!

And let's not forget Come Together – the powerful opening track from the Abbey Road album, that many witnessed Laughton Kora perform in great style at the Come Together show that featured that album.

Wouldn't it be great to see that performed as an encore by the cast and encouraging the crowd to get on their feet and join in as a fitting end to a memorable night.

Even better, we're offering you the chance to pick up a double pass to the Auckland show to witness the magic that is a Come Together show and the creative song writing genius of John, Paul, Ringo and George.
