Cutting to the chase when it comes to men’s health

Te Awamutu barber doing his bit for charity

- Jesse Wood

Chase Whiteman of That Barber in Alexandra St is gearing up for the 2022 Movember campaign. Originally from Taranaki, Chase moved to the Te Awamutu area for a change of scenery and is loving the community vibe.

“If you know me, themo is a staple part of my look but I am always willing to sacrifice the mo to help out the boys! Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health, and this Movember I am joining them,” he says.

“Together we can make a difference for men’s health — in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.”

Chase says if you join That Barber’s Movember team you will be in the draw to win some epic, and fancy, barbering kit.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health.

Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

Anyone can join the Movember movement — you don’t have to be able to grow a mo!

Other options are Move for Movember, run or walk 60km (or a distance of your choosing) over the month for the 60 men lost to suicide every hour globally, alternatively host a Mo-ment — rally a crew and do something fun and easy.
