Cancer charity to benefit from country concert
Te Awamutu Country Variety Club is holding a special Country Music show at the Bible Chapel this Saturday from 7pm with all profits going to Children with Cancer.
A country show not to be missed, the concert features country music artists from around New Zealand: Jocelyn and George from Waitara; Allan Jones, Foxton Beach; Joe and Char Martin, Waiiti Beach; Aileen Silver, New Plymouth; Gail Russell, Te Kōwhai; Barry Tunnicliffe, Matamata.
Jocelyn and George are well known as they run the Country Music Festival at Waitara and also Riverside Country Music Club.
Both just love singing, sharing their musical talent and helping as many that they can along the way.
Allan Jones is another who jumped at the chance to help raise funds for this great cause.
Aileen Silver was up here as a special guest at the Bible Chapel, and was an instant hit. Fans wanted her back, nowshe will thrill the audience with her strong vocals.
Joe and Char Martin, a husband and wife duo, are fantastic entertainers.
Joe is known for his steel guitar playing, and he will also be playing on the night as part of the top-class band that will be backing the show.
Gail Russell is well known around the region and will thrill you with her singing style. She knows what the audience wants — and delivers.
Barry Tunnicliffe has just come back on to the scene, but needs no introduction, as he is a proven crowd pleaser.
Organisers are thrilled to be able to share Chris Gadsby with the Te Awamutu audience. Chris has returned to the scene after suffering a stroke — but has lost none of his fine voice and is expected to be a force to watch on the awards scene.
