MEDICAL CENTRE ASSISTANT
We require a vibrant and energetic Medical Centre Assistant to support our clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to be part of an expanding and dynamic rural GP Practice. Hours are 8am-5pm 4 days per week, with the ability to increase hours to cover annual leave of one other MCA.

This role has a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks and responsibilities that contribute to the effective and efficient running of our medical centre.

Assisting with patient care
Supporting the clinical staff with routine patient tests & assisting with minor surgery
Prepare and maintain environments & equipment Communicating effectively to patients and work colleagues Recording accurate information
Working within scope of training & competencies Someone who is committed to the principles of health equity and cultural competency and who is able to demonstrate an understanding of Māori tikanga and kawa and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Medical Centre Assistant background or other medical industry. Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time & work under pressure Computer proficiency & sound keyboard skills.
Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times A positive attitude and willingness to adapt
Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds Commitment to providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate holistic care
Be a team player who is committed to our team’s success in providing outstanding care for all our patients.
Great administration skills and the ability to record information accurately
The ability to multi-task is key
Being familiar with MedTech32 (or similar) would be an advantage
Covid-19 vaccination status must be fully vaccinated. Applicants must have eligibility to work in New Zealand.
