Goodbye to community

Dear Te Awamutu and surrounds, I’ve been one of your district nurses since 2015, delivering care from Kāwhia to Arohena.

Most recently I’ve been working in our clinic at Matariki

Community Services.

Our family is moving to Canterbury just after Christmas and Iwanted to say goodbye to our lovely community before I go. My last day of work is tomorrow.

It’s been an honour to get to know so many of you and your family/whānau.

From palliative care to wounds, continence to IV support, everyone needs something a little different. It’s been great working to provide for each of you.

I leave behind a competent team of district nurses; Ihope you look after them as well as they try to care for you.

The strain on the health system has long been an issue and the only wayforward is for our communities to pull together and care for one another.

I trust you all to look out for your neighbours.

Muchlove.
