Summer vibes coming to Hamilton in 2024

Summer Concert Tour heads to Claudelands

-

The Sunday of Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2024 will be a red-letter day for Hamilton, as one of the most recognisable brands on the Summer events calendar descends on the ‘ Tron for the very first time.

Yes folks, the Summer Concert Tour 2024 is about to unleash its unmistakable vibe on an eagerly awaiting crowd, which, judging by the reports we have heard, is expected to be a big one.

One of the most anticipated ‘destination’ events of the Summer, the Summer Concert Tour is being held next year at the Claudelands Oval, the impressive open-air venue adjacent to Globox Arena.

Organisers made this call due to the infrastructure issues caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in the Coromandel area earlier in the year.

Our thoughts are with the good folks from that region and it is hoped that as many of them as possible can make the journey to Hamilton for some much-needed time out whilst the repair, recovery and healing processes take place.

With plenty of wide-open space, and some trees for a bit of shade, Claudelands Oval is the ideal location to rock out to some very impressive sounds.

The good news gets even better as we are offering you the chance to win a double pass to get up close and personal with the action at the Hamilton show.

Pseudo Echo were pioneers in the ‘80’s with their avantgarde looks and electro sound and will have the crowd rocking out early to such instantly recognisable hits as A Beat For You, Funky Town and Send Me An Angel.

Collective Soul need no introduction. Their wide-ranging repertoire includes such hits and rocking great fan favourites as Shine, December, Where The River Flows, The World I Know, Heavy, Energy, Cut The Cord, Right As Rain, Precious Declaration and Gel to name but a few. And gel with the crowd they will, maybe even with some stunning new works in the form of Mothers Love and Not The Same, which have been receiving a rapturous reception at recent shows.

Scottish rockers Texas are sure to mesmerise the crowd given the rave reviews they received after their recent appearance on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this year. With such great hits and fan favourites as Inner Smile, Black Eyed Boy, Summer Son, Say What You Want and I Don’t Want A Lover in their repertoire, they are definitely in the ‘not to be missed’ category!

There’s a reason Simple Minds are the headline act at the 2024 Summer Concert Tour. Simply put – they are a headline act!

The UK rockers have sold over 60 million albums and can lay claim to such awesome hits and popular numbers such as Don’t You Forget About Me, Alive And Kicking, All The Things She Said, Love Song, Waterfront, Promised You A Miracle, Glittering Prize and Speed Your Love To Me to name but a few. Upbeat, catchy, distinct and inimitable – their music is a blast from start to finish. Let’s not forget either the hauntingly poignant Belfast Child.

The good folks at Greenstone Entertainment have also set up a playlist on Spotify with some of the songs you might expect to hear on the day – search The Summer Concert Tour 2024 under playlists on Spotify to listen.

Just what exactly any of the star-studded line up of artists at next year’s Summer Concert Tour will belt out from their vast array of material for your listening pleasure is anyone’s guess. There’s only one way to know for sure – be there!
