Two new bins a hot topic

Te Puke Times - - NEWS -

The location of two new rubbish bins in Beatty Avenue has become a hot topic.

Following concerns about the amount of rubbish in the area, Te Puke Community Board has agreed to install two new rubbish bins.

However, exactly where they will go and what design they will have has yet to be decided.

Beatty Avenue resident Keith Govan told the board’s most recent meeting he was unsure whether those dropping the rubbish would use the bins, but said at least residents who picked it up would have somewhere to put it.

“You shouldn’t have to,” said chairman Peter Miller.

“But we do,” said Keith. Councillor Grant Dalley said he thought the design of the bins meant they would be open to being used for domestic rubbish and they were ugly.

The board agreed to fund the bins, with design and location to be decided. CALL YOUR LOCALLY OWNED SPECIALISTS!
