Show to aid TPHS sojourn

Te Puke Times - - NEWS - By ALAN LIDDLE Te Puke High School principal

From 2007 to 2014, Te Puke High School students have enjoyed an overseas educational experience in Singapore.

Starting in 2015, our students were given the opportunity to be involved in a more extensive overseas educational adventure in Malaysia and Singapore.

The aim is to provide Te Puke High School students with opportunities and challenges to help them develop as global citizens.

Next year’s travelling group will fly from Auckland to the island of Penang off the coast of mainland Malaysia. From there, the group will travel down through Malaysia to Singapore for approximately three weeks.

The itinerary will challenge our students, physically and mentally.

We are planning to visit two schools so that our students can engage in educational activities with students from a totally different culture.

It is anticipated that a relationship will be developed between Te Puke High school and a Malaysian community, leading to our students being engaged in an ongoing community service project.

Students involved in the trip, along with their parents/caregivers, are given the opportunity to be involved in fundraising to help cover the cost of the trip.

Students from Te Puke High School are fundraising for a trip to Malaysia and need your help.
