Cel­e­bra­tion of lo­cal busi­ness

To­mor­row evening the cream of Te Puke’s busi­ness com­mu­nity will be re­warded for their con­tri­bu­tions to the dis­trict.

The 2018 Te Puke Busi­ness Ex­cel­lence Awards cer­e­mony will take place at Te Puke War Memo­rial Hall.

The process be­gan back in July when nom­i­na­tions opened.

The awards, now in their 11th year, are run by Te Puke Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment Group.

Man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Mark Boyle says there has once again been a good num­ber of nom­i­na­tions and he is ex­pect­ing be­tween 100 and 150 peo­ple at the awards din­ner.

“It’s a good cel­e­bra­tion of the dif­fer­ent sec­tors of busi­ness and there has been a very high qual­ity of nom­i­nees with lots of new busi­nesses and new busi­ness own­ers and op­er­a­tors in re­tail and some new and dif­fer­ent busi­nesses in the ser­vice sec­tor — peo­ple who haven’t been part of it be­fore.”

The guest speaker is Sir Gor­don Ti­et­jens.
