More entries wanted for Christmas parade
The Seeka Te Puke Christmas Float Parade is just over a week away.
Organisers are still on the lookout for entries, foot stalls and people to help out with the smooth running of the parade.
“We’re celebrating all things sport and Christmas, and look forward to seeing our local sports teams, businesses, community groups and educators all on parade,” says Epic Te Puke marketing manager Rebecca Larsen.
“Show us your talent and join the parade with your trophies, medals and ribbons.”
Individuals are also welcome to join the parade with sports uniforms, medals and trophies.
Following last year’s parade theme, which celebrated one of the district’s bestknown sporting names, organisers have also secured one of Denny Hulme’s race cars to be part of the parade.
Now owned by Northland’s Warwick Mortimer, the 740 BHP Chevrolet V8 in which Hulme won the North American and Canadian CANAM championship.
The health and safety briefing for this year’s parade will be held next Tuesday at 5.30pm at Indian Roots restaurant.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Te Puke Library on Jellicoe Street or by emailing ad[email protected]
Offers of help with the parade should be sent to the same email address.
