Church seeks helpers for Christmas dinner
Te Puke Baptist Church has traditionally held a community dinner on Christmas Day.
The venue is transformed into a lovely dining room for 170-200 guests.
The dinner is at 1pm and is free for individuals and families who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day.
The guests enjoy good company and a nice meal with the help of volunteers and the generosity of our community providing food and gifts.
It is time again to start preparing for the 2018 dinner and the church is asking for people who could volunteer for a couple of hours to assist preparing food or to serve Christmas dinner.
An event co-ordinator is also needed to organise and oversee the preparation of the venue and days activities as well as a kitchen manager/cook to supervise helpers with the food preparation and service.
If you are interested in helping to make this day special for the community friends please contact Angela phone 573 9042 between 9am-12 noon Tuesday to Friday.
A public meeting to discuss the response for help and the dinner programme will be held at Te Puke Baptist Church on November 28 at 10am.
