Leaders urgently needed for Guides and Brownies

Te Puke Times - - News -

Te Puke’s Guides’ and Brownies’ unit is in danger of folding unless new leaders can be found.

Both current leaders are resigning at the end of the year, and without replacements, the unit will close.

“Without leaders, there’s no unit,” says district co-ordinator Helena Martin.

She says people with enthusiasm rather than any particular skill are what is required.

“Whatever you like, you can bring into your unit and make it yours,” she says. “There are other people in the team who can help and support you in areas you might not have the skills in, and there are always trainings and things that you can do if you are interested in something.”

Currently there are 13 Guides and Brownies.

Anyone who might want to step forward or find out more information about the movement can visit www.girlguidingnz.org.nz or email or call Helena on helenal[email protected] or 021 940 853.

People with enthusiasm rather than any particular skills are urgently needed as leaders for Te Puke Guides and Brownies.
