Te Puke Times

LOOKING BACK

-

Florence was the daughter of Joseph and Sara Malyon and had travelled with them from England on the Lady Jocelyn in 1878.

She had been widowed in 1900 with two sons.

In 1901 she married Robert Dunlop, a blacksmith.

They had six children together and moved to Te Puke from Waihı in 1904.

They farmed at what is now Mcloughlin Drive until Robert died of influenza in 1915.

Florence moved to Cameron Road near the Te Puke Primary School and died in 1957 with 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
