Tailor spent 25 years in town’s main street

-

The very quiet and modest Bhukhandas Luxmidas Mastar lived in Te Puke and ran a tailor’s shop on the main street. He spent 25 years in Te Puke, from 1924-1949.

He ended up returning to India where he spent the rest of his life, but his two sons remained in New Zealand and his grandson Harendra now lives in Wellington.

Over the years, the family surname has become Masters.
