1883 — September 24: Te Puke School opens on School Rd with 22 pupils.
1922 — September 22: At a meeting of the school committee it is proposed that Te Puke Main School be converted to a district high school to attract students from Pa¯pa¯moa to Matata which would allow a greater range of subjects to be taught.
1925 — September 18: A hedgehog found while a house is being dismantled in Te Puke proves to be a “decided curiosity, many people never having seen one before”.
1928 — September 20: The dental clinic is opened at the district high school. Nurse Hill visits for six weeks seeing 142 patients, performs 293 extractions.
1934 — September 24: The Te Puke Town Board adopts a proposal to have the Te Puke Town District formed into a borough.
