Sungold kiwifruit and a lovely character home

- By Cameron Scott

Described as “a gold mine,” this attractive Te Puke property would be a fantastic entry to the kiwifruit industry with its easily-managed 3.0 canopy hectares of Sungold kiwifruit.

It’s being marketed by Ray Gosling of Harcourts Te Puke, who says the wellestablished orchard is a proven high producer and is set up with quality growing structures.

The location certainly couldn’t be better – it’s in the heart of the original kiwifruit country where orchards were first established, and is close to both Te Puke with its great array of shops and horticultural services, and the fastgrowing beachside suburb of Papamoa and its beautiful white sand surf beach.

Ray describes the property as “a great little orchard” - especially as it is fully planted in the lucrative Gold kiwifruit, and he points out that it could easily be run by a couple or family.

“If you’re seeking a family, retirement or investment property, look no further,” he says. Well sheltered, the property includes an attractive character bungalow which comes with a huge stepped wooden deck which would be perfect for family barbecues and entertaining larger numbers of people.

Facing north, the home has a sunny aspect and has a spacious lawn area with attractive gardens and mature trees. There’s a separate 10.42m x 5.14m three-bay garage that can accommodate up to three vehicles.

Entry to the home via a short flight of steps to a roofed portico or off the deck on the other side. Inside, a delightful surprise awaits in the form of beautiful glowing native timber flooring and joinery, with matching wooden ceiling details. The interior walls are painted white to offset the timber and the atmosphere is airy and inviting.

With four bedrooms and one bathroom, this private and peaceful home would welcome a growing family, especially as it has a spacious kitchen as well as dining, family and living areas. Nicely designed, the country-style kitchen has a breakfast bar, and is equipped with a rangehood, gas cooktop, a double wall oven and a dishwasher

The open plan dining and family room open out to the huge deck which extends around to the patio at the front of the home. The kitchen has plenty of storage and allows an easy flow to both the dining and family rooms. Spectacular wide native timber sliding doors with opaque glass panels allows the cosy living area to be closed off from the dining room when the occasion demands

. In addition there’s a spacious living room with a wood fire, which is accessed off the entrance foyer. Additional warmth comes from a heat pump between the living and dining areas and the home is fitted with a heat transfer system to spread warmth to the entire house.

As well as three smaller bedrooms, the weatherboard home has a generously-sized master bedroom with built-in wardrobe, and attractive windows topped by leadlight panels. The tiled bathroom has both a bath and a shower, a vanity, toilet and shower.

The home’s exterior is painted a restful light green tone with white contrasting joinery and would be a dream come true for anyone who loves the increasingly rare character bungalows. Covering a 4.6310 area, the peaceful and private property, bordered by lovely native bush, can be enjoyed to the full just as it is.
