THIS WEEK IN HISTORY
1928 — November 8: The Te Puke Motorcycle Club is formed.
1930 — November 11: The Te Puke Amateur Swimming and Lifesaving Club is formed.
1971 — November 9: The borough council decides to rezone Jubilee
Park as a commercial zone to enable the future development of Palmer Place. The plan is for an attractive shopping area fronting Jubilee Park.
1980 — November 10: The ANZ Bank moves into its new building on the corner of Jocelyn and Jellicoe streets. The building is now occupied by Visionlab.
