1884 — December. What was possibly Te Puke's first cricket match takes place with a local team challengin­g Tauranga to a match. The score was Te Puke 19 and 28, Tauranga 44 and 45.

1892 — December 4. A public hall opens on the main road opposite Galbraith's Pioneer Store with a social dance. The hall becomes known as Gilman's Hall.

1912 — December 9. The auxilliary ketch AK Torea is placed on the Tauranga to Te Puke service on the Kaituna River, replacing the Victory. 1913 — December 10. A concert is held at Mcdowell's Hall to raise funds for a cottage hospital and £14 14s is raised.

1916 — December 5. Ford cars are advertised for sale at £180 for a five seater and £165 for a two seater. Local agents Bostock and Vercoe also offer to teach clients to drive.
