Freedom and space

Nathalie Giacomelli, 42, mum of two adorable rat-bag boys, Guthrie Bowron Tile Warehouse consultant. Lives in Kerikeri.

- What do you like about the Far North? How long have you lived here and where are you originally from? What do you like least and how can we fix it? What’s your favourite eatery? Your highlight of the week? Who is the Kiwi you most admire? The spot in Nor

Close proximity to beaches, not having to battle traffic, great place for children to grow up, so much freedom and space which we should take advantage of while it lasts.

Lived in Kerikeri for 8 years, originally from Venice, Italy but assembled in Auckland before I came North!

No complaints really, there will always be a few gripes and niggles anywhere you live.

I love Marsden Estate vineyard, I have great memories there including my mums surprise birthday party, I love platters and the Black Rocks Chardonnay is gorgeous. It’s such a relaxing setting.

My son has just had his sixth birthday party with a few little mates, followed by family get together from both sides.

Ritchie McCaw (that answer is dedicated to my husband – he’ll love that).

I love Takou Bay, good surf and the lagoon for the little ones, five minutes from home, I always feel quite euphoric and truly blessed being there, so lucky to have access.

Yikes, too many things to say……I would push support for the local business community and set up a system where families more fortunate can sponsor a less fortunate family, hand on baby gear and clothing, toys etc

Free hours? What are they? If I can grab a free hour after family commitments, I am usually trying to fulfil something creative in a short time frame! Yeah not that great….. Sapphire - aka Sapphy - is a senior cat who likes to smooch. The 12-year-old has settled with the SPCA, but would prefer a permanent home with a comfy couch and loving owners who can give her company and companionship.

An ideal home would be one with no children or other pets where she can enjoy lazing the days away in the sun.

Sapphy is free to an approved home and she has been desexed. She will be microchipped and vaccinated and is up to date with worm and flea treatments. Phone the Bay of Islands SPCA on the above number or drop into the Waimate North Rd office.
