Invader sought

A woman locked herself in the bathroom after escaping a man who broke into her rural Manawatu house and assaulted her. Police are appealing for help finding the man they believe committed the home invasion. He entered her Rongotea home on Tuesday about 11pm and allegedly stole various items including jewellery and electronic equipment. Detective Sergeant Kevin Anstis said the woman suffered grazing and scratches. The man is described as Maori, aged in his mid to late 20s, with short thick straight black hair. He has the word Nomad tattooed on his neck, and a spider web tattooed on the knuckles of one hand.
