Basin the only place for cricket
We’ve had a brilliant summer so far and I have enjoyed the one-day internationals against Sri Lanka, which have been set in beautiful venues in Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin, showing off the cities with good crowds, set in great picnic environments.
It’s how cricket should be played in summer.
And then they come to Wellington and they play at the stadium, a sterile environment, small crowds and a pathetic camera showing off some wharf cranes. Why didn’t they use that hallowed ground called the Basin Reserve? GRAEME JOSEPHSON
